Go Herdwick and the Festival Hunt
09:00 - 16:00 Sat & Sun
Starting this Easter and until the end of August 2016, the central Lake District is being invaded by a hundred life-sized decorated Herdwick sculptures as part of a public art trail, all in aid of the Calvert Trust’s 40th Anniversary.
From Keswick to Windermere there will be ewes and lambs appearing in unexpected places… in parks, on buildings, in shops and cafes, and even on boats, all sponsored by local businesses and decorated by local artists.
Kendal Festival of Food has got its hands of 10 lambs before they head off to be painted and we’re kick-starting the fun a little early with a mini Herdwick Hunt around Kendal town centre over the festival weekend. Taking part couldn’t be easier…
Step 1: Collect a clue card from any festival venue or box office over the weekend OR DOWNLOAD THE BUBBAL AP HERE.
Step 2: Follow the clues to find the 10 lambs hidden in a range of Kendal businesses
Step 3: Complete the clue card and drop it off at the festival box office by 4pm on Sunday 13th March.
Not just for fun! Although we’re keeping the prize under wraps for a little longer, a winner will be chosen at random from all those who correctly complete the clue card. The winner will be announced by Friday 18th March.
A Little More about the Cumbria-wide Go Herdwick project
